Festival „Dzied vien dziesmiņ” in Ape

Festival „Dzied' vien' dziesmiņ'" („Sing one song") took place on the 26th of June in Ape. Audience had possibility to look at similarities and diferences between Latvian and Estonian folk songs and dances in the street concert . Dance groups „Miļelis" and „Poga" from Latvia and dancers from Setomaa, Varstu and Misso in Estonia was participate in the street concert. Songs sunged participants from Setomaa.

While later concert took place in open – air stage. The festival was planned as theatralized performance where participants express their love to song, dance and place where they live. In the concert participated choirs Ape", „Trejkola", „Dzelme", „Sonus", „Atzele", „Kaprīze", dance collectives „Metenis", „Miķelis" un „Poga" from Latvia. Audience could see also Estonian folk songs and dances. In the festival participated songers and dancers from Setomaa, Varstu and Misso from Estonia. Paticipants agreed to a common song and dance during the concert.

Director of the festival was Astrīda Bētere, artistic directors Edīte Dauškane and Sandra Oto. The festival was organized under project "Supporting Song and Dance Festival Tradition in Estonian-Latvian Border Areas".
